Han Hu, the former chief researcher of the Visual Computing Group at Microsoft Research Asia, has officially joined Tencent, taking over the role of Liu Wei, the former head of the mixed Yuan model technology, who has left the company. Han Hu has a solid academic background. In 2008, he graduated with a bachelor's degree from Tsinghua University and obtained his doctoral degree in 2014, under the supervision of the renowned professor Zhou Jie. His doctoral thesis won the Excellent Doctoral Dissertation Award from the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence in 2016. In 2012, Han Hu conducted visiting research at the GRASP Lab of the University of Pennsylvania, studying under Professor Shi Jianbo. After that, he joined Baidu's Deep Learning Research Institute, where he became one of the technical leaders and participated in the early exploration of deep learning research in China.

In December 2016, Han Hu joined the Visual Computing Group at Microsoft Research Asia, where he served as a chief researcher and participated in the research and development of several important projects. The Visual Computing Group at Microsoft Research Asia is known as the "Huangpu Military Academy" of the computer vision field, having trained many industry leaders, including Sun Jian and He Kaiming.

Han Hu's joining Tencent is to take over Liu Wei's responsibilities. Liu Wei left the company last November and was known as one of the "Three Musketeers of AI Lab" alongside Zhang Tong and Yu Dong.
