The Hurun Research Institute has officially released the "2024 Hurun China AI Enterprises Top 50" list. On this list, AI chip company Cambricon tops the rankings with a valuation of 238 billion RMB, showcasing its strong capabilities in the field of artificial intelligence. Following closely is intelligent voice company iFlytek, ranked second with a valuation of 116 billion RMB. SenseTime, a significant player in the fields of machine vision and large models, comes in third with a valuation of 50 billion RMB.
In terms of company distribution, Beijing leads significantly with 20 companies, while Shanghai and Shenzhen have 9 and 8 companies respectively, and Guangzhou has 4. Overall, companies from first-tier cities account for over 80% of the total list, highlighting the agglomeration effect and important position of these cities in the field of artificial intelligence.
In terms of subfields, companies specializing in visual recognition are quite active, with 13 such companies on the list. This is followed by 11 companies in autonomous driving, 8 in content generation, 7 in data analysis and decision-making, 6 in voice recognition, and 5 in computing hardware. Hurun Report Chairman and Chief Research Officer Rupert Hoogewerf mentioned that these companies enhance human capabilities in five areas: brain, eyes, ears, hands, and legs.
"Brain" represents AI computing power companies such as Cambricon, Horizon Robotics, and Canaan Creative; "Eyes" refers to machine vision companies, represented by Megvii, Orbbec, and Rainbow Soft; "Ears" pertains to the intelligent voice sector, with iFlytek, Turing Robot, and Sobot as its representatives; "Hands" includes AIGC large model companies like Dark Side of the Moon, Zhiyuan Huazhang, and Xiyu Smart; while "Legs" mainly covers autonomous driving companies such as Didi Autonomous Driving, Pony.ai, and WeRide.
It is important to note that this list only includes non-embodied intelligent companies, excluding those in fields such as robotics, smart cars, intelligent aircraft, and smart homes. Additionally, although some companies perform exceptionally well in the AI field, if AI is not their core business (such as ByteDance, Alibaba, Tencent, Baidu, etc.), they were also not included in the evaluation scope.
