Shenzhen has recently launched a humanoid robot that attracted a large audience while strolling on the streets and quickly gained popularity overseas. Named SE01, this robot's gait, speed, and stability are remarkably close to that of a human, even exhibiting a runway model-like grace while walking several meters. Jim Fan, a scientist at NVIDIA, expressed skepticism, suggesting that such a gait might be artificially synthesized; however, upon verification, it has been proven that this robot is indeed real.
The emergence of ZHONGQING Robotics in the field of robotics is surprising. Most of the R&D team for SE01 comes from a technical background in Xiaopeng Robotics, and the company was established less than a year and a half ago. Zhao Tongyang, one of the founders, revealed that the production cost of this robot is kept under 100,000 yuan, with an expected selling price of around 150,000 yuan, and it will achieve small-scale commercial use within two months. This undoubtedly excites consumers about the future of robotics technology.
The SE01 robot stands 170 centimeters tall, weighs 55 kilograms, and is equipped with 32 degrees of freedom, allowing it to walk at a speed of 2 meters per second. Notably, it can not only walk but also mimic humans doing push-ups with standard form, showcasing incredible flexibility and simulation capabilities. It is equipped with an Intel RealSense depth camera and 360-degree LiDAR, providing excellent environmental awareness and obstacle avoidance abilities.
Despite its impressive performance, the SE01 occasionally stumbled during outdoor demonstrations, indicating that there is still room for improvement in stability. ZHONGQING Robotics has also launched more models, such as the SA01 priced at only 38,500 yuan suitable for research and education, and the PM01 priced at 88,000 yuan designed for home use, demonstrating strong market competitiveness.
The team at ZHONGQING Robotics has rich industry experience, adhering to bipedal robot development while emphasizing open-source technology, aiming to combine high technology with market demand to provide users with more cost-effective options. It is believed that in the near future, ZHONGQING Robotics will continue to advance in the path of technological innovation, bringing more convenience to human life.
