Software company Digimarc has introduced a new technology called Digimarc Validate, which allows copyright holders to embed attribution information in digital assets, enabling AI models to identify which content is protected by copyright and should not be used without permission. Digimarc states that the new Digimarc Validate service can add copyright attribution indicators to the metadata of digital content. Once protected content is used to generate an AI training dataset, users can point out intellectual property information through digital watermarks. Digimarc claims that its digital watermark detection software, Digimarc SAFE, supports the identification of Digimarc Validate. If AI companies wish to avoid protected materials entering model training, they need to purchase this software. This enables AI developers to actively identify and bypass content protected by the Digimarc Validate service, thereby reducing infringement risks.
