In the letter, Alexandr Wang outlined five recommendations aimed at helping the U.S. continue to maintain a competitive edge in the field of artificial intelligence. He mentioned that the U.S. government should follow the example of tech giants by increasing investments in data and computing power. Additionally, he suggested that the government should review existing regulations to ensure the creation of more AI-related job opportunities in the future.

He emphasized that federal agencies should be "AI-ready" by 2027 and called for the establishment of a "proactive" plan to provide affordable electricity for AI data centers. Furthermore, Alexandr Wang proposed several implementation plans for AI safety measures.

As a company focused on providing data labeling and processing services to large organizations, Scale AI was valued at $13.8 billion last year. Alexandr Wang stated that the U.S. government is already a client of Scale, and the company may participate in U.S. defense startup initiatives. If these recommendations are implemented, they could bring favorable outcomes for Scale.

Alexandr Wang warned in his letter that the U.S. is currently facing a new technological arms race, particularly with the unprecedented pace of investment by the Chinese government in the AI sector. He pointed out that China's performance in certain industry benchmarks is becoming increasingly noteworthy and is nearing U.S. technological levels, a view supported by other AI leaders.

However, Alexandr Wang's characterization of the U.S.-China AI competition as a "war" has raised concerns among some individuals. Former Twitch CEO Emmett Shear expressed on social media that this phrasing is very problematic, stating, "We are not at war; we are all in this together. If we view AI development as a war, it could lead to serious consequences."

How the Trump administration will respond to Wang's call remains to be seen. So far, Trump's main action regarding AI has been to revoke the previous president's executive order on AI, which provided guidance to businesses to help them correct flaws and biases in their models.
