On January 22, 2025, NetEase Youdao officially announced the launch of the country's first step-by-step explanation reasoning model, "ZiYue-o1", and declared the model open source.
"ZiYue-o1" is a lightweight single model with 14 billion parameters, designed specifically for consumer-grade graphics cards, capable of running stably on devices with low video memory. This model employs chain-of-thought techniques to provide detailed problem-solving processes and logical reasoning, making its operational thinking closer to human thought processes. Through "self-talk" and self-correction, the model can output step-by-step problem-solving processes, helping users better understand and master knowledge.
In the field of education, "ZiYue-o1" has shown excellent performance. By deeply learning from educational data, it has optimized the accuracy of long reasoning chains and extensively used student exam questions as samples for training instruction selection, further enhancing the model's effectiveness in educational scenarios. Currently, "ZiYue-o1" has been successfully integrated into Youdao's "Youdao XiaoP" product, enabling a Q&A process that first provides explanatory reasoning and then delivers answers, guiding students to think actively and improve their autonomous learning abilities.
The release of the "ZiYue-o1" model not only achieves lightweight and efficient reasoning technically but also provides developers with more effective tools.
