Recently, Chengdu Huawai revealed on its interactive platform that the company has successfully developed an artificial intelligence chip specifically designed for edge computing. This chip boasts an AI computing power of up to 16 Tops and is currently undergoing small-scale trials with several clients in specific industries.
This new chip not only has powerful computing capabilities but also demonstrates excellent performance in video encoding and decoding, supporting video processing capabilities of up to 8K. This is undoubtedly an important technological advancement for applications such as video surveillance and smart homes. Chengdu Huawai stated that in addition to the already developed 16 Tops chip, the team is actively working on another chip with a computing power of 100 Tops, which is expected to further enhance video processing capabilities for more complex applications.
