In today's rapidly advancing digital landscape, artificial intelligence (AI) has become an essential tool for businesses to enhance their competitiveness. However, despite significant investments from major companies in hyperscaler AI products, AI leaders still face numerous challenges.
Recently, DataRobot, in collaboration with CIO.com, conducted a global survey revealing that over 50% of AI leaders plan to increase their investments in cloud service providers to address the main issues they currently face.
This survey included over 200 senior decision-makers in the AI field and focused on the challenges businesses encounter when applying AI technology. The results indicate that insufficient interoperability, limited governance and compliance capabilities, and high usage costs are critical factors hindering the adoption of AI in enterprises.

Survey data shows that only 38% of responding companies have fully implemented AI across their organizations, highlighting the difficulties many enterprises face in scaling their AI projects. Additionally, 47% of respondents indicated that the existing hyperscaler AI tools are unsatisfactory in terms of project delivery speed, with only 22% believing that AI effectively improves the quality of business decisions.
Moreover, security concerns were a major focus of the survey. A staggering 84% of respondents reported difficulties in verifying the safety of AI models when using hyperscaler cloud tools, and nearly half expressed concerns about data privacy protection. Data breaches, third-party security risks, and potential damage to brand reputation have become significant challenges that enterprises must confront in their AI applications. In response, over 50% of respondents stated they plan to invest in addressing AI security and compliance issues in the future.
Additionally, more than 60% of respondents voiced concerns about vendor lock-in, particularly regarding compatibility issues in multi-cloud environments, which creates obstacles for businesses trying to adopt new technologies or integrate new AI applications into existing systems. Furthermore, 51% of AI leaders expressed unease about the high costs of maintaining AI projects, especially those that have invested in hyperscaler cloud tools for over three years.
Venky Veeraraghavan, Chief Product Officer at DataRobot, stated that businesses often face tough choices when implementing AI. He pointed out that building comprehensive AI solutions can reduce costs while ensuring safety and compliance, thereby enhancing overall productivity and collaboration efficiency.
To address these issues, DataRobot offers a suite of enterprise AI solutions designed to help organizations deliver AI applications more efficiently and enhance the effectiveness of existing technologies. Through open architecture and customizable AI applications, DataRobot aims to accelerate the deployment of AI, reduce implementation costs, and help businesses better tackle future challenges.
