According to reports from Jiemian, Alibaba recently announced the launch of a large-scale recruitment drive, planning to open hundreds of job positions, 90% of which are related to artificial intelligence (AI).

This initiative primarily focuses on Alibaba's AI To C business, which refers to the consumer-facing artificial intelligence business system, encompassing multiple products and teams, including Quark, Tongyi (spun off from Alibaba Cloud), and the Tmall Genie team. This recruitment drive will specifically target talents in cutting-edge technologies and applications such as text processing, multimodal large models, and AI agents.

In early February, Alibaba Group welcomed Xu Zhuhong, a top global AI scientist and former Vice President of Salesforce, who will be responsible for the fundamental research and application solutions development of the AI To C business. The AI application "Tongyi" under Alibaba has also been integrated into Alibaba's Intelligent Information Business Group, while the Tmall Genie team and Quark product team are exploring the possibilities of new hardware such as AI glasses.
