Samsung recently infused its mid-range Galaxy A series with more AI capabilities, launching three new models: the Galaxy A56, A36, and A26, all boasting a "super smart" experience. These new phones feature several AI-powered camera functions, including Best Face, a dynamic photo expression replacement tool, and Best Take, similar to Google Pixel's feature, which optimizes photos if the subject blinks or looks away. Additionally, improved object removal tools, photo filters, and Google's Circle to Search functionality are all included.
Hardware-wise, all three models feature a 6.7-inch 120Hz refresh rate Full HD+ screen, an upgrade from the 6.6-inch displays of the previous A55 and A35, and the 6.5-inch screen of the A25. The A56 boasts an upgraded Exynos 1580 chip, the A36 uses the Snapdragon 6Gen3 chip, and the A26 focuses on affordability. All three models pack a 5000mAh battery; the A56 and A36 support 45W fast charging and feature larger vapor chambers for improved performance. Notably, the A26 introduces IP67 dust and water resistance for enhanced durability.
On the software side, the new phones come pre-installed with Android 15 and promise up to six years of operating system and security updates—significantly more than their predecessors. Pricing is set at $499 (approximately £499) for the Galaxy A56, $399 (approximately £399) for the A36, and $299 (approximately £299) for the A26. The A36 will be exclusively available at Best Buy starting March 26th, the A26 launches on March 28th, and the A56 will follow shortly after. Samsung aims to solidify its position in the mid-range market by offering enhanced AI features and hardware upgrades.
