Last night, MWC2025, the global mobile congress, officially kicked off in Shanghai. Li Jian, Honor's newly appointed CEO, made his debut at the event and officially launched Honor's new artificial intelligence strategic plan – "Project Alpha".
As Honor's new leader, Li Jian announced at the launch event that over the next five years, Honor will invest up to US$10 billion to build an AI device ecosystem with global partners, marking Honor's complete transformation from a smartphone manufacturer to a global AI terminal ecosystem company.
It's noteworthy that this was Li Jian's first public appearance since taking over as Honor's CEO. Previously, he served as a member of Huawei's board of supervisors and vice chairman of the new Honor. Li Jian assumed this important position after the previous Honor CEO announced their departure in January this year.
"Project Alpha," Li Jian's first major initiative since taking office, has high expectations placed upon it. The plan is divided into three phases: The first phase focuses on smart phones, where Honor will collaborate with partners to break technological boundaries and jointly create a new paradigm for agent-based artificial intelligence; the second phase will build a smart ecosystem, breaking down industry barriers and jointly creating a new paradigm for physical artificial intelligence; and the third phase aims to achieve a smart world, where in the era of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), Honor will push the boundaries of human potential and jointly create a new paradigm of civilization. Content, services, chips, and systems are all interconnected with people and AI devices at the center, forming the unique icon of the ALPHA strategy.
Furthermore, an important announcement was also made at the launch event: the Honor Magic series will offer up to 7 years of Android system and security updates. This move will undoubtedly further enhance user experience and satisfaction.
