On March 5th, Google announced a groundbreaking new feature: "AI Mode." This feature aims to help users solve complex problems more efficiently and make the search experience smarter and more intuitive.

Google officially invited users to participate in testing this feature on their blog, hoping to revolutionize information retrieval with the power of AI.

With "AI Mode," users can ask more complex questions and generate more detailed and understandable answers based on search results. This mode aims to solve the user's frustration of having to repeatedly search to find answers using traditional search methods.

Simply click the new "AI Mode" button after a basic search to enjoy a completely new search experience. Furthermore, AI Mode provides a shortcut to "Advanced Search," allowing users to skip traditional search results and focus directly on the AI-generated content.

To improve service for mobile users, AI Mode supports image and voice input, but currently only provides text output. This feature also integrates user search history, allowing users to check past search records at any time.

The powerful "AI Mode" is powered by a custom version of Gemini 2.0. It accesses real-time data sources and the knowledge graph, using "query expansion" technology to extract information from multiple subtopics and data sources, presenting a comprehensive overview to the user. If the system cannot provide sufficient information, users will be directed to web search results, ensuring information completeness.

Early tests show a positive user response to this new mode, with users' query lengths doubling compared to traditional searches and 25% of users asking follow-up questions. Google plans to gradually roll out this feature to all users, with the current testing phase primarily targeting advanced users.

Google's "AI Mode" is not just a technological innovation; it's a significant milestone in the future of search experience, suggesting a fundamental shift in how users acquire information.
