According to exclusive information from Blue Whale News, video AI startup Avolution.ai (鹿影科技) is reportedly on the verge of being acquired by AI company MiniMax. Multiple informed sources indicated that both parties have reached a preliminary agreement and are currently undergoing the acquisition process. At the time of publication, MiniMax has yet to respond to this information.

Avolution.ai was reportedly valued at approximately 100 million yuan during its seed round in 2024, which is less than US$20 million. Sources suggest that Avolution.ai faced difficulties securing a second round of funding since last year, but its expertise in AI video technology ultimately led to a collaboration with MiniMax, considered a win-win solution.

Public information shows that Avolution.ai was founded in September 2023 and focuses on building an AI video generation platform based on its proprietary visual model, LCM. In August 2024, Avolution.ai received seed funding from BlueRun Ventures and Redpoint China. In July of the same year, the company launched YoYo, an anime-style AI animated video generation platform, enabling users to quickly create videos from text or images.
