OpenAI has announced that the research preview of its AI agent, Operator, is now available to users aged 18 and over in Europe, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Switzerland. This feature is currently only available to Pro users, with a subscription cost of $200 per month. According to OpenAI, they plan to expand Operator functionality to Plus, Team, and Enterprise users after the initial testing period and integrate it directly into the ChatGPT platform.
Previously, on February 21, 2025, OpenAI rolled out Operator to several countries and regions, including Australia, Brazil, Canada, India, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, and the United Kingdom. At that time, users in the EU, Switzerland, Norway, Liechtenstein, and Iceland were unable to access the feature, but OpenAI stated they were working to resolve this.
Operator, an AI agent capable of independently operating a web browser, is currently limited to ChatGPT Pro users. It's noteworthy that OpenAI released the Deep Research feature shortly after Operator's launch, a feature that only recently became officially available in the EU.
With this expansion, OpenAI continues to advance the global deployment of its advanced AI tools, providing cutting-edge AI capabilities to users in more regions.
