According to the latest report from market research firm Canalys, the shipment of personal computers with AI capabilities is expected to reach 175 million units by 2027, accounting for over 60% of the entire personal computer market. The report highlights that AI-specific chipsets are crucial for supporting AI-enabled personal computers. Major chip manufacturers such as Apple, Qualcomm, AMD, and Intel are all striving to launch AI-optimized processors. Concurrently, the demand for high-performance components like storage, memory, and GPUs will also increase as AI software tools advance. Canalys predicts that Apple will be the first manufacturer to fully commit to AI personal computers in 2023, with AMD and Intel accelerating the enhancement of AI capabilities in personal computers in 2024.
