Recent reports indicate that Google is developing a new feature called "Circle Screen" designed to enhance the search experience on its Gemini AI platform. According to Android Authority, a tech news outlet, Google inadvertently showcased a screen-sharing feature for Gemini in an Instagram video, revealing this previously unannounced option.
"Circle Screen"'s key advantage lies in its ability to allow users to select specific areas of the screen for more precise searches. This functionality is similar to the "Circle to Search" feature found on current flagship Android phones, but "Circle Screen" focuses on specific objects rather than the entire screen content. This means users can simply circle the area of interest, and Gemini will quickly provide relevant information, significantly improving search efficiency.
Currently, Gemini AI's existing "Ask about screen" feature relies on the entire screenshot as search context. The introduction of "Circle Screen" will allow users to focus on specific information during searches, enabling a more personalized interactive experience. This improvement not only enhances ease of use but also makes finding information much more intuitive.
It's worth noting that Google products often have overlapping features. "Circle to Search" and the upcoming "Circle Screen" may coexist or eventually merge due to their functional similarities. Currently, "Circle Screen" is still in internal testing and hasn't been officially released in a public version.
The launch of this new Google feature demonstrates its continuous innovation in artificial intelligence and user experience. We look forward to the official release of "Circle Screen" to provide users with a more efficient search experience.
