Recently, the University of Michigan, one of America's top public universities, has launched three self-developed generative AI products to support teaching, management, and research activities on campus. The products include UM-GPT, similar to ChatGPT, document processing assistant UM-Maizey, and the development kit UM-GPT. These will be offered to faculty and students either for free or at a cost. This is considered a pioneering attempt by higher education institutions to apply customized AI, providing valuable experience for other schools. The development of these products has also received technical support from Microsoft, promising to enhance the efficiency and service quality of university operations.
