In April 2025, Moonvalley, a video generation technology company, announced the successful completion of a $43 million Series B funding round. The round involved 11 unnamed investors, bringing the company's total funding to $113 million. This funding will further fuel Moonvalley's technological innovation and market expansion in the AI video generation field.

Just ten days before disclosing the funding information, Moonvalley launched its first video generation model, Marey. Developed in collaboration with animation studio Asteria, this model is designed for precise control over camera movement and object animation. Marey's innovation lies in its ability to generate high-quality videos up to 30 seconds long, accurately simulating detailed movements such as chess pieces moving or hair blowing in the wind. Although not yet officially released, Moonvalley has opened a waitlist on its website.

Marey excels not only in its generation capabilities but also in its copyright advantages. Unlike most video generation models that rely on publicly available data for training, Moonvalley ensured that Marey's training dataset is fully "licensed," having established long-term agreements with multiple copyright holders. This gives Marey a significant advantage in terms of copyright risk, especially considering the legal challenges faced by video generation models trained on publicly available internet data. Moonvalley's strategy is expected to attract significant attention from Hollywood animators and other professional creators.

With the completion of its Series B funding and the imminent release of Marey, Moonvalley is actively positioning itself in the video generation market, aiming to become a leading provider of AI video technology.
