This feature leverages Apple Intelligence to allow users to identify and remove distracting objects from photo backgrounds while preserving the main subject. The latest commercial showcases how a reflection in a mirror behind the subject can be effortlessly removed with a simple tap. Apple emphasizes: "With Apple Intelligence, you can now use the 'Cleanup' tool to remove distractions from your photos."
The "Cleanup" feature reportedly requires the following hardware: iPhone 16 series, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max; iPads with A17 Pro or M1 chips and above; and Macs with M1 chips and above. Devices also need to be running iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, or macOS Sequoia 15.1.
Although Apple has faced some criticism for promoting certain Apple Intelligence features before their release, the "Cleanup" tool, as a readily available and practical utility, undoubtedly offers convenience to iPhone users.
