Prova is revolutionizing technical talent recruitment. This Lehi, Utah-based startup leverages artificial intelligence to help companies more effectively assess engineers' real-world skills. Founded in January 2025 by three engineers – Caden Beach, Giovanni Galbucci, and Leandro Cabranes – Prova aims to reshape the landscape of tech hiring with AI.

Traditional technical interview processes are often criticized as outdated and inefficient. Galbucci points out that existing methods often fail to accurately reflect an engineer's capabilities. Many interviews rely solely on algorithmic problems unrelated to real-world work, causing many excellent candidates to stumble. He believes this unfair assessment mechanism not only frustrates candidates but also causes companies to miss out on true talent.

With the advancement of generative AI, this problem is becoming more acute, as many candidates use AI to easily solve algorithmic problems, leaving recruiters unable to judge candidates' true skills. To address this, Prova offers a "project-based" assessment method. Companies choose the skills and tech stacks they value, and candidates complete real-world projects in their own environment. After submission, Prova's AI generates follow-up questions about the candidate's work, helping the recruiting team gain deeper insights into the candidate's thought process and communication skills.

Although only a few months old, Prova has already partnered with ten companies and assessed over 400 engineers. Its collaboration with the Sandbox project is particularly significant, as Prova itself originated from this project. Feedback indicates that candidates are highly satisfied with the new tool, believing Prova significantly improves the inefficiency of technical interviews.

The Prova team previously successfully created and sold a sales management tool, and they are now fully committed to this new venture. Next, Prova plans to host a high-profile hackathon on May 17, 2025, offering a $10,000 prize to the winners. The team is currently undergoing seed funding to further expand its operations.
