At the recent Baidu Create developer conference, Baidu founder Robin Li announced a series of significant AI development plans and initiatives, embracing the burgeoning era of AI applications and providing comprehensive support for developers.
The Baidu Search Open Platform officially launched the "AI Open Plan" (sai.baidu.com), aiming to provide users with more comprehensive AI services by establishing diverse content and service distribution mechanisms. This plan will be open to AI applications in various forms, including intelligent agents, H5, mini-programs, and independent apps. It not only meets users' demand for the latest and most comprehensive AI services but also offers developers significant traffic and revenue potential. Currently, the Baidu Search Open Platform has already integrated innovative applications in multiple fields, such as AI interview assistants, professional medical consultation, and visual content creation.
Li stated that Baidu Search will comprehensively index various MCP Servers on the market, creating the most comprehensive collection of development tools for developers. This will significantly lower the barrier to entry for AI application development, enabling developers to more easily access relevant capabilities, empower intelligent agents with stronger functionalities, and thus promote the rapid innovation and development of AI applications.
Li demonstrated on-site examples of Qianfan, Search, e-commerce, and cloud storage products integrating with MCP. On Baidu Smart Cloud's Qianfan platform, developers can directly add the Baidu AI search engine and Baidu's preferred MCP Servers to the existing "universal intelligent agent assistant," enabling the agent to perform a series of operations from recommending books to completing purchases. This first domestic MCP service supporting e-commerce transactions, combined with high-quality search MCPs, fully demonstrates the powerful capabilities and broad application prospects of MCP.
At the conference, Li announced the official launch of the third "Wenxin Cup" entrepreneurship competition, further increasing support for entrepreneurs, with the grand prize investment reaching up to 70 million yuan. Furthermore, Baidu plans to cultivate another 10 million AI talents over the next five years, injecting new vitality into the continued development of the AI industry.
In the "One More Thing" segment of the conference, Baidu officially unveiled the first domestically developed 30,000-card cluster. This cluster can simultaneously handle the full training of multiple large models with hundreds of billions of parameters and support 1,000 clients to simultaneously fine-tune large models with tens of billions of parameters, showcasing Baidu's strong strength and technological advantages in AI infrastructure.
Li emphasized that AI applications are on the verge of explosive growth, and Baidu will actively embrace this transformation. Through the AI Open Plan and other initiatives, Baidu will work with developers to create a thriving AI application ecosystem, promoting the widespread application of AI technology in various fields and ushering in a new era of intelligence.
