Adobe recently announced a major upgrade to its Firefly AI platform, transforming it from a standalone image generator into a comprehensive digital content creation system. Since its launch two years ago, Firefly has been used by users worldwide to create over 22 billion assets. This latest version builds on this success by offering a wider range of creative tools.

The new Firefly now supports the generation of images, videos, audio, and vector graphics. For image generation, Adobe introduced Firefly Image Model 4, available in Standard and Super versions. Adobe states that the Standard version meets 90% of creative needs, while the Super version is better suited for complex, realistic scenes. Compared to previous versions, both models show significant improvements in rendering people, animals, and architectural structures.

Text rendering in image generation has also been enhanced, with the model responding more accurately to prompts. The text-to-image function now includes more control options, including aesthetic filters, style selection, and precise composition adjustments.

Furthermore, Adobe officially launched the Firefly Video Model, capable of generating video clips up to five seconds long, supporting various resolutions and aspect ratios. Adobe emphasizes that this model is "commercially safe" as it was trained using licensed Adobe data. Firefly premium plan members can use this video model without limitations across all Firefly applications.

The Firefly system can influence video creation by uploading starting and ending frames. Users can seamlessly switch between text, image, and video inputs while customizing camera movement. New features also include a "text-to-vector" module for creating editable vector graphics and "Firefly Boards" for collaborative concept development.

To increase mobile accessibility, Adobe announced the upcoming release of applications for iOS and Android devices. This mobile version will support image and video creation on the go and allow users to synchronize projects between mobile and desktop platforms.

Adobe also plans to integrate third-party AI models to expand its platform, including Google Imagen 3, Veo 2, OpenAI GPT image generation, and Flux 1.1 Pro. Future integrations will also include models from fal.ai, Runway, Pika, Luma, and Ideogram. To maintain transparency, Adobe will label all AI-generated content with "content credentials," specifying the model used. However, Adobe emphasizes that only its own Firefly models are trained on licensed data, ensuring their commercial safety.
