As resolution increases, the VRAM usage of DLSS also increases. At 4K resolution, the VRAM usage of the Transformer model rises to 307.37MB. Although the reduction in VRAM usage at this resolution is only 80MB, this optimization still holds positive significance for modern graphics cards. However, at 8K resolution, the VRAM usage of the Transformer model still exceeds 1GB, demonstrating the strong demand for this technology at extremely high image quality.
In addition, DLSS4 has made significant progress in frame generation, reducing VRAM usage by 30%. For example, in the game "Warhammer 40,000: Dark Tide," using the frame generation feature of DLSS4 at 4K resolution reduced VRAM usage by a full 400MB compared to DLSS3. This means players can not only enjoy a smoother gaming experience but also reduce the pressure on their graphics card's VRAM.
