Zoom has recently updated its service terms, explicitly committing not to provide video chat content to artificial intelligence. In March of this year, Zoom revised its terms and conditions, including Section 10.4 "Customer License Grant," which granted the video chat tool a "perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable license." However, in an update on July 27, Zoom made further adjustments to its legal terms, explicitly stating that it would not use audio, video, or chat content to train its artificial intelligence models without user consent. This change has raised concerns among users about whether their video chat content is being used for artificial intelligence purposes. Smita Hashim, Zoom's Chief Product Officer, explained this change in a blog post, emphasizing that Zoom never intended to use users' video chat content for any purpose other than operating and improving its own services. This measure has been welcomed and recognized by users.
