Amazon recently announced a strategic partnership with artificial intelligence company Anthropic to jointly advance the development of generative artificial intelligence technology. According to the terms of the collaboration, Anthropic will opt for Amazon's AWS cloud services and will extensively utilize AWS's self-developed AI chips, Trainium and Inferentia, for training and deploying future foundational models. Both chips have been optimized through specialized chip architectures to achieve high performance and low costs in AI computing. Both parties stated that this partnership is long-term, and future upgrades to Anthropic's foundational models will be based on AWS chip engines. The two companies will also continue to closely cooperate in developing next-generation AWS AI chip technology.
