As reported by the Master Station on October 19, artificial intelligence startup Mind Foundry has recently secured $22 million in funding with the aim of assisting insurance companies in determining which drivers to provide coverage for. The capital comes from Asian insurance firm Aioi Nissay Dowa, investment company Parkwalk Advisors, and the University of Oxford. Mind Foundry's AI tools have already been utilized to detect cognitive decline in elderly drivers in Japan, helping insurers predict and prevent accidents. Founded in 2016 by computer scientists from the University of Oxford, Mind Foundry is dedicated to designing AI for high-risk sectors. The company hopes to continue expanding its AI products in the insurance industry.
