Lenovo CEO Yang Yuanqing stated at the 2023 Lenovo Tech World conference that the next generation of generative artificial intelligence will be presented in the form of a "personal foundation model," trained solely based on user information. This will enable user devices to have personal AI capabilities, capable of planning travel itineraries, understanding user preferences for restaurants or activities, and operating without an internet connection. Lenovo's model compression technology allows personal foundation models to run on user devices, acting as a digital extension of the user, and even representing the user in purchasing goods. This vision aligns with the views of Mustafa Suleyman, co-founder of DeepMind, who believes that the next step is personal AI, capable of completing various tasks on behalf of the user.
