Columbia Broadcasting System (CBS) has announced the establishment of a CBS News Verification Department to combat deepfakes and misinformation. The department will be led by Claudia Milne and Ross Dagan, Senior Vice Presidents of CBS News and Television. In order to better identify misinformation, CBS plans to hire professionals, invest in new technologies, and produce segments that explain misinformation. This initiative reflects the continuous efforts of media organizations in the fight against misinformation and deepfakes to ensure that the public receives credible news and information.
