As reported by *TheRegister*, Microsoft plans to transfer some of the machine learning models used in Bing search to Oracle's GPU supercluster to meet the high demand for its AI services. The multi-year agreement aims to help Microsoft cope with the growth of its AI services, particularly the launch of Bing Chat, which introduced a generative AI chatbot to its search engine as early as February this year. The collaboration between Microsoft and Oracle means that Microsoft requires more computational resources to handle the growth of its AI services, and Oracle happens to have thousands of Nvidia A100 and H100 GPUs available for lease. The utilization of Oracle Interconnect for Microsoft Azure allows services running on Azure to interact with resources in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
