On November 14th, chip manufacturer NVIDIA unveiled its latest artificial intelligence chip, the H200. Compared to its predecessor, the H100, this new chip boasts a 1.4-fold increase in memory bandwidth, reaching 4.8TB per second, and a 1.8-fold increase in memory capacity, totaling 141GB. These enhancements significantly bolster the H200's ability to handle complex generative AI models. The H200 is slated for release in the second quarter of 2024, with NVIDIA collaborating closely with cloud service providers to ensure the chip's availability. Priced at over $25,000 per unit, the H200's robust performance promises to dramatically accelerate tasks such as automated text and image generation.
