A new artificial intelligence algorithm designed to detect potentially hazardous near-Earth asteroids has identified an asteroid approximately 600 feet in diameter, named 2022SF289. The discovery of this algorithm is crucial for early warning of asteroids that may collide with Earth. By demonstrating the practical effectiveness of the algorithm, this finding enhances the safety for scientists regarding the scenario of space rocks colliding with Earth. The new algorithm can detect asteroids from just two images, thereby accelerating the process of finding asteroids.
