This article reviews the progress in China regarding large-scale model technology, applications, and governance since the one-year anniversary of ChatGPT's release. Over the past year, the number of large models in China has exceeded one hundred, and applications are rapidly increasing. The performance of leading large models is claimed to surpass that of GPT-3.5, yet there remains a certain gap compared to the global top-tier level. Meanwhile, issues such as "shell models" have emerged in the field of large models, making governance urgent. The article suggests that while developing large models, it is essential to strengthen governance and constraints for them.
