The research team at NYU Tandon School of Engineering recently discovered that work-related gaps in childcare could unfairly filter out qualified female job applicants for suitable positions. By examining biases in large language models, the team found that at least one language model incorrectly considered childcare-related attributes in the resume screening process. This indicates that there is a bias against women's "motherhood role" in AI recruitment, which may exclude qualified female candidates.
