The Japanese government has allocated $67 billion to reclaim a central position in the semiconductor industry. Tenstorrent is committed to adopting the open-source RISC-V standard and collaborating with government-supported startup Rapidus Corp. to produce AI chips. Jim Keller has joined Tenstorrent as CEO, working with the government research group to design AI chips, aiming to challenge the production of the most advanced 2nm logic chips by 2027.
