IBM has recently issued a press release announcing the launch of the new FlashCore Module storage drive and the latest version of the Storage Defender software. When used together, these innovations enhance customers' ability to detect and respond to cyber-attacks or ransomware threats. The existing FlashSystem products can scan all incoming data without compromising transmission performance, ensuring robust security protection. The newly introduced FlashCore Module 4 takes this a step further by incorporating advanced AI models to continuously monitor statistical data collected from each I/O, identifying anomalies such as the onset of ransomware encrypting data. During testing, this new technology was able to detect a ransomware simulator named WannaLaugh within less than a minute. Additionally, the latest version of the Storage Defender software expands its core threat detection capabilities by adding workload and storage inventory management features, aiding customers in assessing their application and data scope, and facilitating swift recovery post-attack.
