Gao Tongqing, Deputy General Manager of China Mobile, stated at the 2024 GTI International Industry Conference that the integration of "5G-A x AI" (5G-Advanced combined with artificial intelligence) is an essential path for the development of 6G. The six enhanced capabilities of 5G-A will unlock commercial value in the personal, household, and industry markets, and synergize with AI. The combination of 5G-A and AI will bring opportunities in new connections, new services, new scenarios, and new experiences, such as AI advancing call services towards service connectivity, creating customized services, building smart networks, and enhancing immersive spatial experiences. Gao emphasized that 5G-A x AI will bring a broader value space for industrial development and called for deeper global industry collaboration to jointly promote the integrated development of 5G-A x AI and the continuous evolution towards 6G.
