According to a report from Geek Solidot, a survey found that approximately 30% of Japanese university students frequently use generative AI tools like ChatGPT, while 46.7% have used such tools at least once. The survey indicates that students primarily use these tools for referencing in writing papers and reports, followed by translation and foreign language composition, as well as consulting and chatting. The survey targeted around 10,000 undergraduate students from 30 universities. This suggests a high usage rate of AI tools among Japanese university students and also highlights the significant role these tools play in both academic and daily life.
