According to IT House, OpenAI's Chief Scientist Ilya Sutskever indicated in an email back in 2016 that it made sense to start reducing openness as progress was made in building artificial intelligence. Elon Musk chose to leave OpenAI and planned to establish an AGI competitor within Tesla. Musk expressed support for OpenAI to secure funding, stating that more than $100 million was needed. Musk aimed to gain control and merge OpenAI into Tesla.
