The last author of Google's classic Transformer paper, Llion Jones, has finalized his entrepreneurial venture. He has established a new company in Japan with the aim of creating a world-class artificial intelligence research laboratory. Llion Jones, who spent 8 years at Google and was involved in the publication of the Transformer paper and other research, felt confined within the company. His new venture plans to develop a foundational model inspired by natural intelligence, enabling a group of AIs to collaborate for enhanced safety and reduced construction costs. The new company will be located in Tokyo and is currently recruiting talent.
