Google is currently testing new features for Android 15, announced at the May I/O developer conference, specifically the automatic theft detection feature. This feature is being tested for the first time in Brazil due to the high incidence of smartphone thefts in the region and enthusiastic user feedback.

The new feature, dubbed "Theft Detection Lock," utilizes artificial intelligence to recognize unusual phone movements, such as those occurring during theft. In addition to motion detection, the feature can also identify theft through other clues, such as connecting to different networks or being away from the usual network for an extended period.

Moreover, Android users in Brazil not only get to experience the new security feature but also enjoy more convenient business contact services. They can directly contact businesses via WhatsApp by simply clicking a dedicated button in the business search list to send messages. Additionally, users can directly schedule appointments with local businesses, such as doctors and beauticians, from the search results. Currently, these two features are exclusive to users in Brazil.

In addition to the theft detection feature, Android 15 also introduces the "Private Space" feature, offering extra privacy protection. This feature is akin to a password-locked vault for storing sensitive applications and data. It is worth noting that the theft detection feature will be backported to older versions to ensure that more users can benefit from it.
