Starting from June 19, Adobe will roll out a series of significant AI upgrades for its popular PDF editor, Acrobat. This update will greatly enhance the AI assistant capabilities built into Acrobat, offering multi-document analysis, expanded file format support, and new image generation abilities.

Firstly, the AI assistant will gain the new ability to analyze and query multiple documents simultaneously. Previously, it only supported processing of individual PDF documents. Users can now drag and drop various formats such as Word and PPT into the assistant interface, and the AI will automatically analyze and synthesize content from multiple documents to answer user queries or identify overall trends.

It is understood that Adobe has integrated its own Firefly model, adding an AI image generator to Acrobat. Users can generate new images based on prompts or perform operations such as removing backgrounds and fine-tuning edits on existing images in PDFs. Adobe emphasizes that its AI-generated content is "safe for work" and does not compromise privacy or produce results that could harm brand image.

Additionally, Adobe reiterated its commitment to data privacy protection. Although documents need to be uploaded to the cloud for analysis, the company will never use this data to train AI models, nor allow third-party language model providers to utilize it.

These AI enhancements will further boost Acrobat's office efficiency, bringing significant convenience for handling large volumes of documents and optimizing visual content. To attract users, Adobe will offer these new features for free to all users during the period of June 18-28.
