Dubai is increasingly becoming a global hub for artificial intelligence. To further solidify this leading position, this postmodern metropolis on the Gulf has ambitious plans to launch the "Million AI Prompters" training program, aiming to provide AI prompting engineering training to 1 million people within the next three years. This is the world's first training program of such a large scale.

As is well known, AI prompting engineering is crucial for fully utilizing generative AI, involving an understanding of AI model capabilities and limitations, and is expected to become one of the most important skills in future workplaces. The "Million Prompters" program will cultivate expertise and competence in AI prompting, such as formulating precise instructions for AI systems to achieve desired tasks.

"We want to be the most futuristic city, keeping Dubai at the forefront of innovation," said Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of the UAE, at the launch of the program. As the second largest emirate in the UAE, Dubai is preparing for the post-oil era, aiming to become a powerhouse in artificial intelligence. It is estimated that by 2031, AI will account for 40% of Dubai's GDP.

Omar Al Olama, the UAE's Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, said that the program aims to showcase the wide-ranging applications of AI to the public, from which both tech-savvy and non-tech individuals can benefit. He emphasized that developing practical prompting engineering skills is crucial for improving the quality of life.

To kick off the "Million Prompters" program, the first Dubai AI Prompting World Championship recently took place, attracting thousands of participants in traditional fields such as literature and art. The final three champions, from Australia and India, shared a total prize of approximately $270,000.

Global tech giants are joining the UAE's AI boom. Microsoft has reportedly invested $1.5 billion in UAE-based AI company G42, acknowledging that "the UAE is becoming a global AI hub." Since 2019, the UAE has had its first AI university, and sovereign wealth funds have established a $10 billion AI fund.

With this massive "Million Prompters" training program, Dubai is leading a new wave of AI talent cultivation, further enhancing its influence in the global AI landscape.
