The MIT Media Lab has launched a personalized generative AI project called "Future You," where users interact with a simulated version of themselves at the age of 60 after filling out personal information.

According to the official project guidelines, to generate a future self that is as accurate and insightful as possible with the Future You chatbot, users are asked to answer the questions in the survey honestly and thoughtfully. All collected data will be anonymous and used solely for research purposes.
The dialogue with the future self is generated in real-time through a large language model that is personalized based on a pre-intervention survey assessing the user's future goals and personal qualities. Therefore, it only reflects the data input by the user into the survey, and its responses are still constrained by the data it was initially trained on.
