Claude has recently introduced an innovative feature called "Projects," a chatbot service similar to ChatGPT's GPTs, but with unique characteristics and advantages. With Projects, users can create personalized bots tailored to specific projects. These bots have access to all relevant project documents, building a comprehensive knowledge base that allows the bot to remember all project details.
Key Features:
Enhanced Knowledge Base: Each project is equipped with a 200K context window, roughly equivalent to the capacity of a 500-page book. Users can upload documents, code, and insights to enrich Claude's knowledge base, improving its effectiveness in answering questions or executing tasks.
Avoiding Cold Start Issues: By using internal knowledge as the foundation for Claude's outputs, the Projects feature addresses the cold start problem that AI may encounter when lacking sufficient background information, enabling Claude to provide more professional support.
Custom Instructions: Users can define specific instructions for each project, allowing Claude to output according to specific standards, styles, or other requirements, thereby customizing Claude's responses.
Artifacts Feature: The Artifacts feature allows users to collaborate more closely with Claude, generating and editing code snippets, text documents, graphics, and designs. In particular, it enhances Claude's coding support for developers, providing a larger code window and real-time front-end preview functionality.
Sharing and Collaboration: Claude team users can share dialogue snippets to the team's project activity feed, helping team members gain inspiration from different working methods and improve the team's overall AI usage skills.
The workflow of Projects includes creating a project, adding materials, customizing instructions, collaborating with Claude, and sharing and providing feedback. Users can quickly initiate new tasks as Claude can provide professional and customized assistance using uploaded materials and custom instructions, avoiding the hassle of starting from scratch.
Additionally, all materials uploaded to Projects and conversations with Claude are confidential by default and will not be used to train Claude's model unless the user explicitly agrees.
Currently, the Projects feature is only available to paid Pro or Team users. Through several examples, we can see how Projects can be used in consulting teams, marketing teams, and development teams to help them analyze business reports, create advertising copy, and write code.
