Instagram's latest feature, "AI Studio," will allow creators to craft their own versions of AI chatbots.
Meta is rolling this out as an "early test in the U.S.," with CEO Mark Zuckerberg announcing the news on a broadcast channel last Thursday. According to Zuckerberg, "In the coming weeks, you might see some of your favorite creators and interest-based AIs on Instagram."
These AIs will primarily appear in messaging and will be clearly labeled as such. Users can click the "message" button from the creator's Instagram page to start a conversation with the AI chatbot.
A prompt at the top of the page indicates that the messages are generated by AI and "some may be inaccurate or inappropriate." Additionally, Meta prefixes the creator's name with "AI," and currently, a "beta" tag follows the name.
Zuckerberg stated, "We've been working closely with creators so these AIs can help answer questions from their fans and engage with people in useful and interesting ways. This is a test version, and we will continue to improve them and make them available to more people soon."
