The latest Android test version 2.24.14.7 of WhatsApp has been released through the Google Play Beta program, revealing a new feature under development – allowing users to choose the Meta AI Llama model.
According to WABetaInfo, this feature aims to provide more choices for AI conversations. The default option will be the Llama3-70B model, while WhatsApp plans to offer a preview version of the more advanced Llama3-405B model in the future, designed to handle more complex prompts. It is noteworthy that the Llama3-405B model will have a weekly usage limit, after which users will return to the default model to continue the conversation.
This feature will allow users to customize their AI interaction experience according to their needs. Users can choose the default Llama3-70B model for faster, simpler responses or opt for the advanced Llama3-405B model to handle more complex queries.
This feature is still under development and has not yet been opened to Beta test users. WhatsApp has indicated that this feature will be provided in future updates, with the specific launch time yet to be announced.
Previously, WhatsApp has started limited testing of Meta AI in multiple countries, exploring its integration into the search bar and the top bar of the app. The development of this new feature demonstrates WhatsApp's continued commitment to innovation in the AI field.
