Recently, hundreds of social workers in England have started using an artificial intelligence system called 'Magic Notes'. This tool can record face-to-face conversations, analyze the content, and draft letters and suggest follow-up actions for social workers, helping them complete their work more effectively. The councils using this AI tool include Swinton, Barnet, and Kingston, with a total of seven councils currently using it. The 'Magic Notes' tool can quickly write meeting summaries and propose ideas that social workers may not have considered.

Judges in England and Wales have been granted permission to use ChatGPT for legal rulings, despite warnings about AI fabricating cases. The judiciary office issued official guidance stating that AI can be used to summarize texts and perform administrative tasks. The guidance warns that ChatGPT may invent cases in research, mentioning that deepfake technology could create false evidence.

The Bank of England believes that AI could exacerbate financial stability risks and undermine trust in banks. They are concerned that algorithms may lead to discriminatory decisions and replicate historical biases. The Bank stated that the use of opaque AI models by multiple companies could impact market stability. They recommend that central banks consider how to limit the risks of AI used by financial firms. The Bank's viewpoint has heightened concerns among countries about the rapid development of AI.
