This morning, the GitHub page of the large-scale model project Tongyi Qianwen QwenLM, under Alibaba Group, unexpectedly went offline. Users attempting to access related projects, including Qwen2.0, encountered a 404 error, preventing the page from loading normally.
In response to this sudden situation, Lin Junyang, Senior Algorithm Expert at Alibaba and head of the Qianwen team, quickly addressed the issue on his social media, clarifying that the team had not disappeared and expressing confusion over the reason for the page's downtime. Lin humorously stated, "This luck is unbeatable. We haven't run away; we're still here. It's just that the GitHub organization has been flagged for no reason, so you can't see the content. We are already in contact with the official. If anyone in the powerful social circle has a way to expedite this process, please let me know, thank you."
As of now, despite the team's efforts to communicate, the related page still displays a 404 error and remains inaccessible.
It is worth noting that at the end of August, the Alibaba Tongyi Qianwen team just released the second-generation visual-language model Qwen2-VL. This model can understand video content up to 20 minutes long and supports various applications such as video-based question answering, dialogue, and content creation. In several authoritative evaluations, Qwen2-VL has set new records for multi-modal models, outperforming leading closed-source models like GPT-4o and Claude3.5-Sonnet in some metrics.
