Recently, Meta announced on its WhatsApp channel that its AI chatbot, Meta AI, has officially launched in six new countries, including Brazil, the UK, the Philippines, Bolivia, Guatemala, and Paraguay. This marks a further step in Meta AI's internationalization, aiming to provide a smarter interactive experience for global users.

Meta also revealed that in addition to these six countries, the company plans to gradually roll out Meta AI to more countries in the future, especially in the Middle East. With this expansion, Meta AI will be available in 43 countries and multiple languages, further enhancing its global user base.

In the upcoming rollout plan, Meta AI will enter several new markets, including Algeria, Egypt, Indonesia, Iraq, Jordan, Libya, Malaysia, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Thailand, Tunisia, the UAE, Vietnam, and Yemen. Additionally, Meta AI will begin supporting Arabic, Indonesian, Thai, and Vietnamese languages by the end of this launch cycle.

Users can now access this AI assistant on various platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger, and the Meta.ai website. Notably, at last month's Meta Connect event, Mark Zuckerberg revealed that Meta AI currently has nearly 500 million users worldwide and is expected to become the most widely used assistant by the end of the year.

Susan Li, Meta's Chief Financial Officer, pointed out during the Q2 2024 earnings call that India is Meta AI's largest market, primarily due to the over 500 million WhatsApp users in the country.

Furthermore, Meta added some interesting features to Meta AI last month, such as new celebrity voices and simultaneous translation. More importantly, Meta AI's "Imagine" feature has been expanded on Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger, allowing the generation of photos through natural language prompts. Additionally, Meta AI can understand uploaded photos, provide relevant answers, and even perform edits.
