At the Honor MagicOS 9.0 launch event and developer conference on October 23, Honor CEO Zhao Ming announced the official release of the latest operating system, MagicOS 9.0. Zhao Ming reviewed the evolution of Honor MagicOS in his speech, highlighting that since its inception, it has positioned itself as an AI OS, continuously driving technological innovation.
Zhao Ming emphasized that MagicOS 9.0 will lead the industry into a new era of "self-driving," providing cutting-edge innovative experiences to users through Honor's evolving AI technology, making it possible for AI to reshape software and hardware experiences. Honor's AI intelligent assistant can mimic human learning and intent understanding, enter relevant applications, and gradually mimic human operations. In the future, many complex functional operations can be assisted through the self-driving feature within the phone.
Honor also released the "Report on the Classification of Terminal Intelligence" in collaboration with the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology and industry partners, proposing five levels of terminal intelligence from L1 to L5, corresponding to intelligent response, intelligent assistance, intelligent assistant, intelligent collaboration, and autonomous intelligence levels. This classification system aims to provide a unified standard and framework for evaluating the intelligence level of terminal devices and related applications, promoting the upgrade of terminal intelligence and contributing to technological advancement and industrial upgrade in the industry.
Additionally, Honor MagicOS 9.0 is touted as "the industry's first personalized full-scene AI operating system with an intelligent assistant." The system upgrade supports a 3 billion parameter on-device large language model, which is a 77% faster loading speed, a 500% faster word generation speed, an 80% lower power consumption, and a reduction of 1.6GB in memory and 1.8GB in storage compared to the 7 billion parameter model in MagicOS 8.0.
In MagicOS 9.0, the YOYO assistant has been fully upgraded to YOYO intelligent assistant, capable of accurately understanding user needs, autonomously operating phone resources and third-party services, completing 600 demand intent understandings, 950 personal habit memories, and 270 complex task planning. Zhao Ming demonstrated new features of the YOYO intelligent assistant at the launch event, where with a simple command, the intelligent assistant can automatically complete a series of operations based on screen visual recognition, such as placing an order in a food delivery app, achieving full "self-driving" without the need for third-party adaptation.
